Buff System

ToH offers three types of ways for Members to raise their character's strength. Our Buff system is important to the story as we primarily role for Quidditch and Duelling, which will offer further perks in the future.

Magic Buff

Magical Buffs are perks towards the individual character when they are up against enemies, other roleplayers, or a chance of winning competitions and duels alike. There are two primary ways to receive Magical Buffs; Dueling and Extra Credit.

They will be explained below.

It is up to the Member's discretion to submit a Ticket with the link of their Roleplay in order to receive their buffs. If a Member does not submit the roleplay through a Ticket, they will not earn their additional point to their buffs.

Other ways of Earning Magical Buffs:

DUELING

Tale of Hogwarts has a combat system in place in order to keep a sense of fairness amongst the server.

Upon every scene in need of combat, each character will roll a 2d50+ magical buff dice. The winner of said roll will earn a point towards that duel. The rolling will continue until one of the characters reaches five successful hits. The roleplay posts will be based on the roll results between the two individuals.

Duel Submissions

Every Duel must be / have:

Two or more Characters
Two Paragraphs in Length
+2 Posts of the roll results (1 for a starter, 1 for an ender)

After completing a dueling roleplay, you may submit the roleplay by creating a ticket so that you and your opponent will both earn a +1 to your character's magical buff.

Example:
If the roll results between Gary and Mary are:
Gary: 1 1 1 1 1
Mary: 0 0 0 0 0

Gary has won by a land slide, whereas Mary has missed all of her attacks. Their roleplay must be at least 7 posts long in order to be eligible for the buff point. 5 for the rolls, and 2 additional posts for one starter post and one ender post.

EXTRA CREDIT

Extra Credit is an alternative system where member can receive Magical Buffs without having to Duel. While no rolling is required, the Roleplay scene's plot must be centered around academic pursuits and gaining knowledge in their academics or knowledge of magic.

Acceptable Academic pursuits can include:

Potion Making
Study Sessions
Working on a School Assignment
Complete a Task given by a Professor (Create a Ticket)

Every Roleplay submitted must be:

With two characters or more
Eight posts each
Two Paragraphs in length for every posts

BROOMSTICK BUFF

Broomstick Buffs are perks towards the individual character when they are up against other teams in Quidditch, other roleplayers, or evading foes and enemies alike.

It is up to the Member's discretion to submit a Ticket with the link of their Roleplay in order to receive their buffs. If a Member does not submit the roleplay through a Ticket, they will not earn their additional point to their buffs.

Other ways of Earning Broomstick Buffs:

FLIGHT TRAINING

Flight Training may be done by any student, even if they are not on the Quidditch Team. This is separate from team practices.

After completing a flight training roleplay, you may submit the roleplay by creating a ticket so that you and your practice partner will both earn a +1 to your character's broomstick buff.

Each post must be at least 2+ paragraphs long and each post.
Rolling is optional, though please avert to the Combat method above.
If you are choosing not to roll, the roleplay must consist of 8 posts each for it to count.
